Makeover!

Lots of things are new today! Freezing weather (that is new in TX!!); new carpet being put in later; and a new blog design! hee hee!

My wonderful and talented friend from Lubbock told me about this website http://www.scrapblog.com/ where you can go and scrap online! Then you can make your file into a .jpg file and save it on your computer to then upload as your header! You can also just scrap and print and then you have a crafty picture to frame! Check it out!!

Here I am with my wonderfully talented Lubbock friend! I was able to enjoy her company for lunch last week while I was in Lubbock going to the Doc. We had a yummy lunch at Abuelo's Mexican Restaurant and then did a little shopping! Thanks Laurie for a wonderful afternoon and for the scrap blog tip!! Love ya! Y

Dan's Day of Hunting

A couple of weeks ago, Dan's good friend asked him to go duck and wild pig hunting. The boys were sad they couldn't go, but maybe in a couple of years.

This is the ranch house of the guy hosting the hunt. You can tell he is really into hunting!

After 3 hours of waiting for a pig to walk by (alone) to Dan's surprise, one finally did (about 5 minutes before the guys came to pick him up) and Dan shot it. It was big and ugly!
The best part of the day was the duck hunt. In about 6 months, two of these beauties will be hanging in our home office. I can't wait.

Basket Ball

This year the boys are playing UpWard Basket Ball. They've both played in the past, but this is the first year that the score is kept and it feels like a real game.

They are on different teams, but both teams are very good! Two games into the season, they have both won a game and tied a game. Today Drew's team came back from being behind and tied it up! It was very exciting.

Zach's coach is one of the best (so another mom said) and you can tell, because they play like a team! Wow! Very impressive! Today Zach had to guard a kid on the other team that he went to school with! It was great! Friendly competition!

In case you don't know UpWard Basketball; they have to learn a verse from the Bible each week and have a devotion during practice and half time and we play at local churches.

I'll post pictures soon!!!

My Cousin Jimmy

James Thomas Buhrmester
November 19, 1977 - December 21, 2008

Jimmy is one of eight children, born to my aunt, who is my mothers twin sister Loyce, and my Uncle Glenn. He was one of two boys out of six girls!! I was six years old when he was born!
I remember how special it was to have two boy cousins in a house full of girls!

I also remember always being anxious to see the family pictures my aunt would send to see how everyone was growing up! Especially Michael (Jimmy's brother) and Jimmy since I did not see them very often during our growing up years.

I was so happy to see recent blog posts of Jimmy and Uncle Glenn fishing and the Thanksgiving pictures of my cousins this year.

It was such a sad shock to hear that Jimmy passed away the week of Christmas this year. My heart has been so heavy knowing the huge void in my families lives.

It was so nice for me and my family to be with my cousins at the funeral two days after Christmas. I thank God that we were able to be there. It meant so much to me.

Please visit http://ourbrotherjimmy.blogspot.com/ to find out more information about Jimmy and what happened in his passing. And please keep my Aunt, Uncle and cousins in your prayers as they continue on without Jimmy. Thank you so much.

It was a very sad reason to be in Utah, but I'm so glad we were there.
I love you Aunt Loyce, Uncle Glenn, Sherri, Kristi, Julie, Heidi, Michael, Cindi, Misty! I'm praying and thinking of you all, always.

Merry Christmas 2008 and Happy New Year 2009!!

Merry Christmas from Dan's family!! We spent Christmas Eve at Grandmommy and Granddaddy's house, like we do every year. This year, Drew couldn't wait for the "party" - We always have so much fun reading the Christmas Story from the bible, eating and opening gifts! We all hit it big in the presents department again this year!!

Christmas Eve at home. We are waiting for the morning to open our gifts!! The pillow Drew is holding is a "one of a kind" pillow from my very good and talented friend from Lubbock!! Thanks Laurie!! Y

"Can we sleep here??"

Santa brought "SPY Remote control ATV's" They really are a good for spying, except, they make a lot of noise as they turn and go! :) Santa also brought the video game chair! So comfortable for playing video games or watching TV!! Thanks Santa!

The boys also got name plates for their doors!! :) Thanks Dad!
