Flashback Friday - (click on picture to enlarge!)

Okay, I decided to join in on the Flashback Friday! It is fun looking at days gone by! I had fun pulling out our photo albums looking for something to post! I came across these pics. from April of 2003! Six years ago!! There was a contest in the Odessa American (our newspaper) for tickets to Sesame Street Live that was coming to our area soon! Oh, I just felt in my heart that Zach had a chance to win. So he entered the contest (I forgot what we had to do) and a few days later we got the call...he won!!! So of course we asked our good friends, the Niebuhr's to join us! We were able to even give them one of Zach's tickets he won! Zach and Drew have such good memories of Gavin and Cassidy. They enjoy looking at Laurie's blog and seeing how much they have grown!

It's fun to remember when...

*Short Spring Break Get~Away*

We decided to take a quickie trip to Dallas to visit Six Flags during Spring Break! Dan and I both grew up going to Six Flags so we love going there for the thrill of fast rides!

The Titan was the boys first big roller coaster ride a few years ago (Drew was 4!!! He was tall enough, so I drug him up there! I know! What was I thinking??) We decided to ride it again. We were all feeling brave, until we actually got on it, then we were scared to death. (all of us but Dan! He loves a fast roller coaster! Y)

Dan actually pulled out the camera and took pics while we were on it! I was telling him to "put that away and Hold on!!!" Zach actually looks calm, doesn't he??





















Of course we had to ride the beloved "log ride" !!!

After we drug out tired bodies out from the crowds of Six Flags, we went to our hotel, which, believe it or not, was the highlight of the trip for our boys ages 9 and 11.

We stayed at the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine TX. It is luxury in it's finest. They were having a "Spring Break Special!"

There is an indoor river walk all over the bottom floor! Incredible!

It was thrilling to have a room with a balcony that overlooked the river walk!

We all hated to leave. We had a great time getting away, even for short trip. We hope you all had a good Spring Break or have a good Spring Break if you haven't had yours yet. It also helped D and I realize that this trip may have been our last one to Six Flags. Give us fishing, hiking, swimming, camping, friends, fun, and we are there, but give us lines, huge crowds and bad expensive food ~ we are over.

Sisterhood Award

My good friend Laurie, who is also one of my favorite blogging buddies, just awarded me with the Sisterhood Award. Y (Taken from the "Sisterhood of Traveling Pants" movie/book). I have not seen that movie, and have tried to read the book, just never finished it. It was cute, what I read of it...guess I need to finish it or watch the movie now... ha ha

Thanks Laurie for thinking of me. You are such a great friend. ;) Ya'll need to meet Laurie. She's the kindest, funniest, most thoughtful person. It is such a treat being around her. She is so funny and doesn't even try to be! She loves her family something fierce!! And did I mention talented?? She is so talented. I'm better for knowing her! Luv ya girl!!

I want to pass the award on...so I will pass it on to one of my wonderful cousins whose blog I love to read and loved actually spending time with (in person) this past Christmas and my other wonderful cousin and her girl gang and my cousins daughter that I love getting to know through her blog, my "old" friend Lori who I've loved reconnecting with this past year and love her blog! and my other cousins daughter-in-law!! I love connecting with you all through your blogs! I also want to add Buhrmester Family Updates and an honorable mention of "Brotherhood Award" to my wonderful brother whose blog keeps me updated on important issues. Love you all!

March 4 - Happy Birthday Tia!

Happy Birthday to my sister-in-law Teresa! When the boys were born, she wanted a fun "name" and decided on "aunt" in Spanish ~ Tia! Tia loves her family dearly. Y She is a great mom, sister, daughter, aunt and friend!! And just like this picture shows, she looks more like her kids sister than mom!! Happy Birthday Tia!
