My Cousin Jimmy
James Thomas Buhrmester
November 19, 1977 - December 21, 2008
Jimmy is one of eight children, born to my aunt, who is my mothers twin sister Loyce, and my Uncle Glenn. He was one of two boys out of six girls!! I was six years old when he was born!
I remember how special it was to have two boy cousins in a house full of girls!
I also remember always being anxious to see the family pictures my aunt would send to see how everyone was growing up! Especially Michael (Jimmy's brother) and Jimmy since I did not see them very often during our growing up years.
I was so happy to see recent blog posts of Jimmy and Uncle Glenn fishing and the Thanksgiving pictures of my cousins this year.
It was such a sad shock to hear that Jimmy passed away the week of Christmas this year. My heart has been so heavy knowing the huge void in my families lives.
It was so nice for me and my family to be with my cousins at the funeral two days after Christmas. I thank God that we were able to be there. It meant so much to me.
Please visit http://ourbrotherjimmy.blogspot.com/ to find out more information about Jimmy and what happened in his passing. And please keep my Aunt, Uncle and cousins in your prayers as they continue on without Jimmy. Thank you so much.
It was a very sad reason to be in Utah, but I'm so glad we were there.
I love you Aunt Loyce, Uncle Glenn, Sherri, Kristi, Julie, Heidi, Michael, Cindi, Misty! I'm praying and thinking of you all, always.

Merry Christmas 2008 and Happy New Year 2009!!

Merry Christmas from Dan's family!! We spent Christmas Eve at Grandmommy and Granddaddy's house, like we do every year. This year, Drew couldn't wait for the "party" - We always have so much fun reading the Christmas Story from the bible, eating and opening gifts! We all hit it big in the presents department again this year!!
Christmas Eve at home. We are waiting for the morning to open our gifts!! The pillow Drew is holding is a "one of a kind" pillow from my very good and talented friend from Lubbock!! Thanks Laurie!! Y

Caroling
Tonight our small group from church got together to go caroling at a local nursing home.
Some of the kids made handmade Christmas cards to give the residents and we brought cookies and brownies too! These two little cuties were a hit with the residents! Don't we just love little kids?

It was a time to show some talent and let everyone know something was going on.

It was a great experience for Zach and Drew -- to reach out to others during the Christmas season.

Sadly, Dan had a work Christmas party in Roswell NM, so he was not able to go with us. We all missed his presence and his voice as we caroled up and down the halls. Some residents were already asleep, but we did get to talk to a few. It was fun to do this together and sing together and we think the residents were happy we came to see them. Being in a nursing home is not easy, so we were glad to bring some smiles to a few faces and to our faces!

Sunday Stroll
We decided it was a good time to, finally, take the dogs on a walk down the alley to the beautiful park at the end of our street.
Drew and his ducks. He loves animals of all kind! At one point, he had all the ducks in the pond following him! It was soooo funny! Y

I loved this "action" shot!!

Christmas Tour of Home
Welcome to our home! We are thrilled to be in our new home and decorate it this Christmas! We hope you enjoy the tour. (Beware, lots of pictures ahead!!)
Every year Dan and the boys love putting up Christmas lights on the house. Dan always gets creative with his lights!
This is the view when you walk in the front door.
Here's a cozy spot for reading, talking on the phone or watching a good program.
Here is my beloved nativity set mom bought me years ago. Thanks Michael for the new sofa table. It is the perfect place to display our decorations. Dan's mom made the cute Santa and Mrs. Clause! So cute! I love getting them out each year!
Freshly painted fireplace. It's taken a few weeks to get use to, but I love it now!!(Tag, your next!!)
